“The Optigear™ Synthetic RO range comprises high-performance synthetic oils specially designed for gears used in rail transport and mechanical engineering applications (such as robots).
Thanks to their properties, Optigear Synthetic RO can be used in extreme climatic conditions and offers a long service life.
Optigear Synthetic RO is formulated with Castrol Microflux Trans (MFT) Plastic Deformation (PD) additives.
MFT PD helps to improve performance when operating temperatures and loads reach an activation energy threshold, resulting in a smoother surface without increasing wear.
The smooth surface offers optimum protection against wear and a low coefficient of friction, particularly in applications involving extreme pressure, shock loads, vibrations and low speeds.
MFT PD helps protect against shock loads whilst maintaining a high load-carrying capacity, and helps prevent the growth of micro-pitting in previously damaged gears.”
