“The Castrol Optigear™ 1100 range (formerly known as the Tribol™ 1100 range) offers high-performance, extreme-pressure gear oils.
Developed to tackle wear issues in industrial gears and bearings subjected to high loads.
Designed for use in enclosed gearboxes, plain and rolling bearings, Optigear 1100 gear oils are commonly used in applications where heavy and impact loads predominate.
Optigear 1100 is formulated with the Tribol Gear Oil Additive (TGOA) plastic deformation (PD) additive.
TGOA PD helps to improve performance when operating temperatures and loads reach a certain activation energy level, by enabling the micro-smoothing of surface roughness without increasing wear.
The smoothed surface provides optimum protection against wear and an extremely low coefficient of friction, particularly in applications subject to extreme pressures, impact loads, vibrations or low speeds.
TGOA PD helps to protect against frictional wear and impact loads whilst maintaining a high load-carrying capacity, and can help prevent the progression of micropitting in previously damaged gears.
Specific grades within the Optigear 1100 range meet the requirements of DIN 51517 Part 3 CLP and those of a wide range of industry bodies and equipment manufacturers.”
